In the words of Click and Clack: "Hah! I'm back."
I'll be leaving January 2nd for my 3rd trip to Kolkata, India in my continuing effort to avoid sucking at Hindustani classical vocal music. I'm also looking forward to seeing the good friends that I've made over the years, learning some bangla and hindi, maybe traveling to the Punjab (puhn-JAHB not POON-jahb), drinking tea in clay cups on the street, staying up all night at concerts, tasty fish curries and mishti (sweets).
One major landmark that I've walked past many times but never visited is the Kali Temple so maybe that will change this time. Another place I might try to visit is Shantiniketan, the home of Rabindranath Tagore, the first Indian Nobel Laureate and an overarching cultural figure in Bengal, the region I'll be visiting.

I'll take a case of LIMCA thanks!
...ok, and maybe some of that syrupy dessert Guruji offered us when we were there. He had it in some kind of plastic tupperware...something to do with trees?
Bon Voyage. Awaiting more updates!
